Pressing onward...

As I sat in prayer and private time yesterday, I was lead to the following verse, and it really spoke to my heart, it also spoke to the heart of my struggles. So many times I have fallen into the trap that my parents are plagued with in, "living in the past" my old memories or shortfalls are thrown at me by the enemy and by myself and it gets discouraging very easily. As I read these words I felt comforted and encouraged.

Pressing on Toward the Goal

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Moments like these, are my favorite moments in life where it's just me & God and he teaches me that there's more than what I can see, or feel or sensory experience. There's another life I'm living, and its for him, and him alone. and the "prize" is that I get to spend forever in it. Glory to God.
