God is a Comedian

The above statement is more true in my life than anywhere else that I can see. I love him for it. Just last night, as I was sitting on my couch relaxing and enjoying a quiet night off. He moved me to get up & go listen to some music I have on Itunes. so I did, and I was worshiping in my office a little and enjoying myself. Well, God must have heard me (I was, after all singing pretty loud) and decided to play a joke on me without me realizing it.

OK, so as I am listening to some music and I flipped on the song "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees for a brief moment, something made me remember from my younger years that there was some techno-sounding dance remixes of that song floating around somewhere. so I searched on Itunes for some, and then God sprang his practical joke of love. Thank you Lord...

As I'm surfing through the list of the different versions of the Song to buy, My eyes were moved to a particular one. I dunno why, but thank you Lord for doing it. as I looked I discovered a song that looked like Stayin' Alive, but was by a band that I'd never heard of and their name caught my eye... it was the band "ApologetiX" and they did a remake / Cover of the song with all new Christian lyrics. By now I was intrigued, so I thought .99$ ? why not... so I bought & downloaded the song, and I was floored, and shocked, and amazed at what I heard. Not only can these guys play instruments extremely well, they really hold to the original song, but the words are all about the love of Christ, and salvation, rather than the sex, drugs, & rock & roll of the songs they are made from. I couldn't believe the musical genius i was hearing.

So I downloaded at least 10 more of their songs and just Grooved out in my office, Praising God, and all the while having the most fun I can think of listening to music. See, after I became born again, I stopped listing to most if not all my secular music and listened to predominantly Christian Rock. So here I am, hearing musically what sounds the same, but I'm reading my Bible to keep up with the verses mentioned in the lyrics, and singing along. and it's Great!

All I can say is that I am so thankful that God loves me in the way he does, that not onl did he send his sone for me, but he also has the desire to make me laugh, and just make me happy in the creative ways he does. Praise God!!
